24-year-old American track and field athlete Tara Davis has been in the eye of the storm of late. Things were on the upside for her after she had won the gold medal in the long jump event at the 2023 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

However, a recent report of her testing positive for cannabis use meant that she was stripped off her title. Amidst this massive controversy, the athletics star put out a post on social media breaking her silence.

Tara Davis has been found positive for cannabis after a test and has served a one-month suspension. However, more detrimental is the fact that she lost her title and has been disqualified from all competitive results. Yet, with her recent post, there are promising signs of a strong comeback.

Tara Davis recently took to her Instagram and wrote, “Season opener this weekend”. Attached alongside was a clip, where Davis was doing what she does best. Sprinting all the way before she took a long leap in the air and completed a jump. Davis first broke the long jump national record in February 2017 at the Dumanis Sports Group in Frisco, Texas. She followed her stellar performance up until 2021 when she jumped a whopping 7.04 meters to earn the 2nd spot at the trials for Tokyo Olympics. Although at the finals, she didn’t end up on the podium having come 6th, Davis’s potential was known to the whole world.
