Coach driver hurt in car collision in
Emergency services were called to the A1 southbound near the junction with the A69 shortly before 1500 GMT.
Northumbria Police said there were about 35 people on the coach and they were all transferred to another vehicle.
North East Ambulance Service said the driver suffered lower leg injuries. Eleven other people had minor injuries.
An air ambulance was called to the scene but the coach driver was taken to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary by road.
There were major traffic delays in the area as a result of the collision. The A1 has since been reopened.
