The Dallas Mavericks and guard Jaden Hardy have agreed to terms on a contract extension. The team announced Tuesday evening that Hardy signed a multi-year extension to remain with the Mavericks as he enters his third season with the organization.
Dallas did not release the terms of the deal, but ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Monday that Hardy’s extension is a three-year, $18 million deal. Hardy was eligible for an extension through June 30, 2025, Marc Stein reports.
In his two seasons with the Mavericks, the 22-year-old has averaged 7.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists. Last season, Hardy played a career-high 73 games and averaged 7.3 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 13.5 minutes.
During Dallas’ run to the NBA Finals last season, Hardy appeared in 19 games and averaged 4.2 points on 42.6% shooting in 6.8 minutes per game.
Before entering the 2022 NBA Draft, where the Sacramento Kings selected him with the No. 37 overall pick before trading him to Dallas, Hardy played for the G League Ignite. He averaged 19.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 32.6 minutes in 25 games with the Ignite.
