Angel Reese’s New Coach Reveals True Opinion of Her….

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese is coming off a historic rookie campaign. Posting season averages of 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds in 34 games, Reese broke the WNBA’s single-season rookie record for double-doubles. Reese also set the WNBA’s single-season rebounding record before Las Vegas Aces center A’ja Wilson overtook it. Wilson, who was named the unanimous 2024 WNBA MVP, surpassed Reese’s record while the Sky rookie was sidelined with a wrist injury. Looking to build on her strong rookie season, Reese is headed to Unrivaled for some high-level WNBA offseason competition. While there, the former LSU star will be coached by Los Angeles Sparks assistant Nola Henry.

For Angel, it doesn’t matter, 3-on-3, 5-on-5, college, WNBA – she’s an incredible rebounder, right?” Henry said, per Dalzell. “I expect to see rebounding from her… that’s just what she’s done her entire career.”

Henry did not stop at rebounding when assessing Reese’s game, also highlighting the defensive versatility she will be tasked with showcasing.

With 3-on-3, there will be a lot of switching, so I anticipate her being able to switch on to some smaller guards, and really have to sit down and guard in space,” Henry said. In addition to guarding on the perimeter, Henry said Reese will draw tough post assignments like Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier.

Henry added of Reese, “I’m super excited about Angel. I followed her in college, and then obviously in the WNBA, I’m just excited about her growth

Reese has continued to develop since her time in college where she led LSU to a national championship in 2023. This offseason will be another opportunity for Reese to expand her game, and it sounds like her Unrivaled head coach will provide plenty of opportunities to do so.
