Done Deal: St. George Dragon’s Coach Sign Stephen Crichton in for three years contract deal…

The St. George Dragons, the club has officially confirmed the signing of star center Stephen Crichton on a three-year contract deal. The highly anticipated transfer deal has sent ripples through the rugby league world, as Crichton, one of the NRL’s most electrifying talents, joins the Dragons ahead of the 2024 season.

The signing is seen as a strategic move by the Dragons to bolster their squad and strengthen their backline. Crichton, who has made a name for himself with the Penrith Panthers, is widely regarded as one of the premier centers in the competition. His skill, power, and speed make him a formidable presence on the field, and his ability to break tackles and score tries has earned him a reputation as a game-changer.

The 23-year-old, who was part of Penrith’s dominant squad that clinched back-to-back NRL Premierships in 2021 and 2022, is also known for his impressive performances in State of Origin, where he represented New South Wales. With his pedigree in both club and representative football, Crichton’s arrival at the Dragons is seen as a significant coup for the club.

The Dragons have been keen to inject new energy into their squad, and Crichton’s arrival signals their ambition to return to the top of the NRL ladder. Crichton’s powerful ball-running and defensive skills will add depth to a Dragons side that has shown flashes of potential in recent seasons but has struggled to maintain consistency.

Dragons head coach, Anthony Griffin, expressed his excitement over the signing, praising Crichton’s ability to create opportunities and add leadership to the team. “Stephen is a proven winner and a player who can make a real impact in both attack and defense. His experience at the highest level will be invaluable to our squad, and we’re thrilled to have him on board for the next three years,” said Griffin in a statement.

Crichton himself shared his enthusiasm about the move, stating he was eager to join the Dragons and help the team achieve success. “I’m excited for this new chapter in my career. The Dragons are a club with a rich history, and I’m looking forward to contributing to their future successes,” said Crichton.

The three-year contract will see Crichton stay with the Dragons until the end of the 2026 season, and fans will be hoping that his arrival will be the catalyst for a revival of the club’s fortunes in the NRL.
