In just two days the College Football Playoff will kick off with a game between the Indiana Hoosiers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
The winner of Friday night’s game will face off against SEC champion Georgia, which acquired a first-round bye after defeating Texas. Notre Dame enters Friday night’s home game as the slight favorite, but Indiana has only one loss on the season – coming against the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Before the playoff games kick off this weekend, CBS Sports analyst Tom Fornelli revealed his somewhat controversial quarterback rankings for ever playoff team. Oregon star quarterback Dillon Gabriel sits atop the rankings, but things get a bit interesting from there.
Indiana quarterback Kurtis Rourke, who struggled mightily against Ohio State, sits at No. 2. Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, a one-time favorite to be the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, came in at No. 9.
Pulling up the rear is Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton, who filled in admirably for the injured Carson Beck in the SEC title game.
