In an unexpected and significant move, the St. Louis Cardinals have announced the termination of manager Oliver Marmol’s contract, ending his tenure with the team after just two seasons. Marmol, 37, was hired in 2022 as the 51st manager in the history of the Cardinals, taking over after the retirement of long-time manager Mike Shildt.
