
Mike Hartline, the former starting quarterback for the University of Kentucky football team, has made a triumphant return to the Wildcats program as an offensive analyst. This marks a full-circle moment for Hartline, who played for Kentucky from 2006 to 2010 and is now back in a coaching capacity after a successful career as a player and coach.
Hartline’s tenure as Kentucky’s quarterback was marked by his strong leadership and impressive statistics. He threw for over 5,600 yards and 38 touchdowns, playing a crucial role in Kentucky’s success during his time under center. One of his standout seasons came in 2010, when he led the team to a bowl game appearance, completing over 260 passes for 3,178 yards and 23 touchdowns. His contributions helped elevate Kentucky’s offense, and his leadership on the field made a lasting impact on the program.
After completing his playing career, Hartline transitioned into coaching, gaining experience at multiple institutions. His coaching journey began as an intern at Ohio State in 2015 and has since seen him take on various roles, including offensive quality control coach at Cincinnati, quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator at Ohio Dominican, and a similar role at Auburn. He also served as a pass game coordinator and wide receivers coach at Charlotte and was an offensive analyst at Coastal Carolina.
Now back at Kentucky, Hartline will focus on the offensive side of the ball, bringing his extensive coaching background to help develop the Wildcats’ offense. Head coach Mark Stoops expressed excitement about Hartline’s return, recognizing that his experience both as a player and coach will be invaluable to the program. “It was the right time and opportunity to bring him back,” Stoops said, highlighting the positive impact Hartline is expected to have on the team.
