Denver, CO – April 24, 2025 — In a groundbreaking announcement that’s sending shockwaves through both the NBA and college football communities, the Denver Nuggets have unveiled an ambitious $5.3 billion renovation to Ball Arena, transforming the iconic venue into a multi-sport, state-of-the-art stadium set to redefine the standard for college football experiences.

The extensive overhaul includes cutting-edge technology integrations, ultra-luxurious suites, expanded seating capacity, and innovative amenities designed to deliver an unmatched fan experience. While Ball Arena has long been known as a premier destination for NBA and NHL action, the new upgrades signal a bold leap forward—positioning the stadium as a national hub for major college football events, including playoff games and bowl matchups.

“This isn’t just a renovation. It’s a reinvention,” said Nuggets President Josh Kroenke during the unveiling ceremony on Thursday. “We’re not only creating a home for elite basketball and hockey—we’re building a destination for the future of college football.”

The redesigned stadium will feature a fully retractable roof, 360-degree LED video displays, a high-speed 5G network, and AI-enhanced fan services. Luxury suite options have more than tripled, with premium viewing lounges, in-seat gourmet dining, and exclusive VIP experiences.

The seating capacity will expand to over 90,000, making it one of the largest and most versatile stadiums in the country. The new design includes dedicated student sections, tailgating zones, and interactive fan zones, ensuring both tradition and innovation blend seamlessly.

With the renovation comes a new partnership between the Denver Nuggets, NCAA conferences, and major sponsors to bring top-tier college football games to Denver. Talks are already underway to host a rotating annual neutral-site rivalry game, as well as potential CFP playoff rounds beginning as early as 2026.

“This will be a game-changer not only for Denver but for college football as a whole,” said NCAA executive Marcus Bradford. “We’re seeing the birth of a venue that rivals anything in the nation, tailored specifically for the next generation of fans and athletes.”

Construction is slated to be completed by late 2026, with phases opening throughout 2025 and 2026. As anticipation builds, one thing is clear: Ball Arena is no longer just a home court—it’s a new stage for football glory.
