The One New Zealand Warriors “got what we deserved” from the Titans, but in their NRL 17th-round matchup against the Brisbane Broncos on Saturday at Go Media Stadium, head coach Andrew Webster believes “we’ve got to get our pride back.”

Following the heartbreaking 6-66 loss to Gold Coast on Saturday night, Webster stated that the Warriors can “definitely come back from this.”

“There are many excellent players here,” he remarked.

“We have people here who are here for the right reasons; they are proud people who want to win and who want to win for the One New Zealand Warriors and each other. As a club, we’re proud. We can surely return, even though the game against the Titans was obviously very embarrassing.

The 49th meeting between the Warriors and the Broncos takes place on Saturday at Go Media Stadium. It’s the Warriors’ 22nd meeting in Auckland altogether, with a 12-10 advantage at home.

The most crucial factor, according to Webster, will be “how we attack things from here.”

“I believe that consistency is essential. You have to make an effort to remove all of the emotion from it.

After examining it, you must ask yourself, “Well, where did we go wrong? Did we do anything successfully? Then let’s discuss it. How did we prepare? I felt it was good, but you should ask the guys. After that, we need to devise a strategy for how we’re going to triumph this week.

“My belief is that we must remain close as a group, take care of one another, and refrain from assigning blame. All of us are involved in this. This includes me as well. I approach things with the mindset that I own it too.

After this, a reaction is required. That’s what we intend to pursue on our own field against a formidable opponent. It will be a desperate game for both teams. Beyond merely two points, there is more for us to win. We must regain our self-esteem. We have to pursue it.

At a sold-out Go Media Stadium, New Zealand Warriors captain Tohu Harris stated that his team was keen to make amends in front of their supporters.

“We must return their faith in us,” he declared.

Their backing for us, along with that of our international followers, has been incredible. With the performance we gave, we feel ashamed.

Five players total from the State of Origin squads for Queensland and New South Wales are expected to participate in the game.
