The Ohio State football program had to get a quarterback from the transfer portal this past offseason. Part of the reason for that is the Buckeyes didn’t have any experienced quarterbacks on their roster. Will Howard stepped in and has led the team ll season long.
Had the Ohio State Buckeyes been able to keep the best recruit in their program’s history, they wouldn’t have needed Howard this year. Back in the 2021 class, the Buckeyes were able to bring in Quinn Ewers, who was the top-rated recruit in the country.
Ewers ended up staying for a year to get paid NIL money before heading back home to Texas. There is a report out there that a Big Ten team has offered a large sum of NIL money to Ewers to play for them next season. Is there a chance that Ohio State is that program?
Why the Ohio football program likely isn’t trying to bring Quinn Ewers back
While bringing Ewers back would be interesting, it likely isn’t the best thing for the Buckeyes to do at this point. They need to prepare for the future instead of these one-year quarterback rentals. Ewers would only be a one-year rental. Ohio State needs to allow Julian Sayin, Air Noland, or Tavien St. Clair to start.
t’s highly unlikely that Ohio State is the program looking to bring Ewers back. At this point, it’s unclear who that program is. Ewers may not even be interested in that offer. He is likely going to enter the NFL Draft once his run in the College Football Playoff is over. If he doesn’t he’ll likely stay at Texas.
