Breaking News: New Zealand Warriors Fullback Roger Tuivasa-Sheck Invests $3.6 Million to Transform a House into Shelter for Homeless Youth in New Zealand

In a remarkable display of generosity and compassion, New Zealand Warriors fullback Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has invested an incredible $3.6 million to transform a large property in Auckland into a shelter for homeless youth. The initiative, set to open early next year, aims to provide safety, education, and hope to young people struggling with homelessness and poverty across New Zealand.

According to reports, Tuivasa-Sheck personally purchased the property and partnered with local non-profit organizations to renovate it into a state-of-the-art living facility that will accommodate up to 40 young residents at a time. The shelter will include dorm-style rooms, study areas, a fitness center, and counseling offices, ensuring the youth have access to both emotional and practical support as they rebuild their lives.

Speaking to the media, the rugby league star said, “This is something that’s been on my heart for a long time. Growing up in New Zealand, I saw too many young people lose their way because they had nowhere to go and no one to help them. I want to change that — even if it’s just for a few.”

Tuivasa-Sheck’s bold move has drawn widespread praise from fans, teammates, and community leaders, who called the act a powerful example of leadership beyond the field. Warriors head coach Andrew Webster lauded the initiative, describing Roger as “a true role model and a man of action, not just words.”

The project, titled “Home of Hope”, will partner with local schools, mental health services, and job placement programs to give residents every chance to succeed once they leave the shelter. Tuivasa-Sheck has also pledged to personally visit the home regularly to mentor the youth and continue funding its long-term operations.

This selfless act highlights Tuivasa-Sheck’s deep connection to his community and his unwavering belief in using his platform for good. As one social media post read: “He’s not just a champion on the field — he’s a hero off it.”

With the “Home of Hope” project now underway, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck continues to prove that true greatness isn’t measured in trophies — but in the lives we change for the better.
