Eddie Howe prioritizes a £30 million deal as Newcastle look to enhance their first team – The Telegraph

The Telegraph reports that Newcastle is considering a summer move for Kieran Tierney, who, should Arsenal approve an end-of-season deal, could fetch around £30 million.

It’s believed the signing of an attacking left-back is one of our top priorities, with Eddie Howe a ‘long-term admirer’ of the Scotland international who he tried to sign at Bournemouth prior to his move to the Emirates.

The former Celtic star has lost his place in Mikel Arteta’s XI to Oleksandr Zinchenko, meaning a summer switch could be on the cards. However, it’s thought the 25-year-old could cost ‘in excess of £30m’ should the Premier League leaders sanction his departure. He joined for £25m in 2019 and still has three years left on his contract after signing an extension in June 2021.

Tierney has only started four league games this year, all of which they have won, but he is a constant in their Europa League run. But, with only 20 minutes of game time since the beginning of the year in the Premier League, he might very well push for a transfer in quest of regular minutes.

Thus, he won’t be cheap, but according to The Telegraph, he is one of our top targets and a player Eddie Howe is ready to get if the Arsenal agree to release him.
