Aston Villa & Manchester United are quoted transfer fee for linked midfielder

Aston Villa transfer latest includes a fresh link with Fiorentina and Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat

Aston Villa have reportedly enquired about availability of Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat this summer, along with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United – and the team from Florence are said to be after as much as €30m if they’re to sell him this summer.

Amrabat, who is 27 next month, played a prominent role in Morocco’s remarkable run to the World Cup run to the semi-finals in the winter, when they were eventually beaten by France – the midfielder played 90 minutes in all seven matches as they finished fourth, against all of the odds.

He signed for Fiorentina in January 2020 from Club Brugge, and he has played regularly in Serie A since then – last season Amrabat helped Viola to finish eighth, one place below Juventus, in the Italian top tier – and that, along with his World Cup exploits, have led to interest accumulating from the Premier League.

Man United have been linked earlier this summer, while Atletico Madrid were also exploring a deal to take Amrabat to Spain, but that interest appears to have cooled. Viola News, via Sport Witness, add that if Amrabat is to leave Fiorentina this summer, then it most likely will be for England, where a number of clubs, including Villa, are claimed to have enquired. His parent club, though, want as much as €30m to part with him.

Villa, of course, aren’t exactly short on midfield options as things stand; Morgan Sanson is set to follow Marvelous Nakamba out of the door once again this summer, with neither playing having any part to play under Unai Emery, but he has recruited Youri Tielemans to complement Douglas Luiz, Boubacar Kamara, captain John McGinn, the currently injured Jacob Ramsey and Leander Dendoncker.Man Utd Transfer News: Fabrizio Romano reveals Sofyan Amrabat plans | FootballTransfers.com
