Jason Kelce answers to the retirement rumors.

Jason Kelce has finally responded to speculations that he may be retiring from football.

Update: 12:59 p.m. EST January 17: Jason Kelce, the Philadelphia Eagles center, has clarified if he is retiring after reports surfaced on Tuesday.

Kelcie responded to the reports nearly a day later on his podcast “New Heights,” stating, “I just don’t think you’re in a position after a game like that to really, you know, make that decision.” I simply don’t. There is too much emotion in the moment. There’s too much going on in the moment to really understand that decision.”

He added, “I’m not trying to be dramatic and continue to draw this thing out. I’m really not. It’s just something I think, when it’s time to officially announce what’s happening in the future, it’ll be done in a way that’s definitive and pays respect to a lot of people and individuals that have meant a lot to me, what has led to the career I’ve had. I don’t think that it would be respectful or even accurate to be able to do that right after a game like that.”

He did, however, relate what he told his teammates following the 32-9 loss to Tampa Bay.

“I believe in every one of you. Enjoy the times you have in this league. I believe this is how things played out. Many guys say, ‘If it is your final game, I feel sad for you.’ “Don’t feel sorry for me,” Kelce stated, according to ESPN.

According to ESPN, right tackle Lane Johnson stated Kelce “hinted” about leaving.

Kelce also discussed the embrace he and coach Jeff Stoutland exchanged on the field following the game, saying, “I realized that it could be one of the last times I get to do that with him, so I just want to make sure he knows how much I appreciate him.” I didn’t want to feel emotional, but what can you do?

Kelcie said that if he decides to leave the game, he would make an official declaration, People magazine stated.

“I think when it’s time to officially announce what’s happening in the future, it will be done in a way that will be definitive,”

Eagles Coach Nick Sirianni Has a Direct Message for Jason Kelce Amidst Retirement News.

Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni is extending all of his “love” to Jason Kelce in the wake of his retirement from the NFL.

Sirianni talked with media after their season-ending defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their first and only playoff game this year, around the same time Kelce allegedly informed his teammates that he would not be returning to the team the following year.

The coach may have missed the message during his interview, as he stated that “we’re not there at that position yet to talk about that” when asked about Kelce’s retirement from the game, despite the fact that the official NFL Twitter account confirmed it.
